Here is a breakdown of how TeePublic “usernames” work. On TeePublic you have three types of usernames:
- Artist Name
- Store Name
- URL Slug
Artist Name = The name that appears next to your designs on product pages ("designed and sold by: [artist name]”)
You can change this yourself by accessing your account settings > My Account > Settings. From there, you can type your desired Artist Name in the Artist Name field under Account Information.
Store Name = The name of your storefront that appears in the header of your store (beneath your profile image)
You can change this yourself by accessing your account settings > My Store > Edit Storefront. From there, you can type your desired store name in the top-most field of the Store Details section.
URL slug = the last portion of your storefront link (https:www.teepublic.com/user/[xxxxx]).
You can change this yourself by logging into your account and navigating to your account settings. Click on "My Store" > "Edit Storefront", and then type in your new desired URL slug in the text box labeled "Store URL Slug".
Hit enter. From here you will be prompted to enter your password as a security measure. Simply input your password and click "Update URL". Make sure you entered your password correctly otherwise the change will not stick.
There are some important considerations to note about changing your URL slug.
- You can only ever change your URL slug once, so please choose wisely.
- Changing the URL slug is irreversible. You cannot use a URL slug that is or ever was associated with a storefront. This means that you will not be able to change it again or go back to your old URL slug.
- URL slugs cannot begin with numbers or contain any special characters (including spaces), with the exception of "-". URL slugs are automatically created to be lowercase.
For the best visibility of all these settings, make sure to use a Desktop computer or laptop with the latest version of Google Chrome or Firefox.
